This new custom modern home in University Park home was designed to be a transitional interpretation of other traditional homes in the area. Modern features and detailing were married seamlessly to the traditional style of this home.

Details

  • Home sits near busy Preston Road and was designed with the need to eliminate road noise in mind. A courtyard protects the main living spaces from road noise.

  • The front door is perpendicular to the street to provide privacy.
  • Substantial entry columns flank the front door. These columns were physically challenging to install because of their size and massiveness.
  • Exterior of the home is clad in painted brick and cast stone accents. Window exteriors are clad and colorized. The position of the second floor windows required precision placement due to the structure of the home.
  • Slate roof with decorative roof vents to compliment updated styling.
  • Home has three exterior porches; one at the front entry, one for entertaining includes an outdoor fireplace, and the third is tucked under a slanted stained overhang.

  • Flatwork of outdoor spaces is silver mist flagstone.
  • All wood and stone floors, no carpet in the entire home. Wood floors are 5” white oak with clear finish.
  • All trim in the home was custom run in a substantial size to enhance the updated design.
